Searching for a puzzle among tens of thousands of references shouldn't require knowing the exact title. You have a mood in mind, a character, a brand, sometimes just a vague idea. Search has just been completely rethought to start from there: from what you have in mind, not from the perfect word.

It understands meaning, not just words

The new search grasps the intent behind your query. You no longer type a keyword, you describe what you're looking for.

• "Christmas mood" brings up warm, snowy, magical puzzles, even when the word "Christmas" appears nowhere on the box.
• "seaside mood", "mountain landscape": describe an atmosphere, and it finds the puzzles that match.

It's especially useful when you're looking for a gift idea or a passing fancy, with no specific reference in mind.

Whatever the language

Our catalog brings together puzzles from around the world, with many titles in English. You shouldn't have to guess which language to search in.

• "montagne" also brings up puzzles titled "mountain".
• "chien" finds the "dogs", "automne" the "autumn" ones.

You search in French, and search increasingly bridges to the English titles.

Your characters and your universes

You're looking for a universe, not necessarily the puzzle's official title. Search now recognizes characters and licenses, even when their name doesn't appear as such in the title.

• "spiderman" gathers every Spider-Man, whatever the spelling (Spider-Man, Spiderman, Spider Man).
• "hermione", "hogwarts" take you into the Harry Potter universe.

And search sorts things out: "cat" brings up felines, not spiders nor rock albums about "spiders from Mars".

It forgives typos

A brand name can be tricky to spell. That's no longer a problem.

• "ravnsburger" or "ravansburger" immediately suggests "Did you mean Ravensburger?", in one click.
• Many typos are even corrected on their own, without you having to think about it.

It also understands the details of your query. Type "ravensburger 1000 pieces": it picks up the brand and the piece count, and filters for you. And your results are ranked by relevance, the closest to your intent first.

We're still calibrating it, and it will keep improving

Let's be transparent: a search that understands meaning is a living system. On some ambiguous queries (a word that exists in two languages, for instance), the results aren't perfect yet.

That's normal, and it's intended: the search is in continuous calibration. We're refining it constantly from your real searches, and we intend to improve its quality week after week. What you see today is already a big step, and the best is yet to come.
